Camp Fairhaven

Camp Fairhaven is owned and operated by PEI Council. Guiding members from across Canada and around the world are also welcomed at Camp Fairhaven. Non-Guiding groups will be accommodated if space allows.


Camp Fairhaven is open for camping from mid-May to late October annually.
Girls can come to Camp Fairhaven with their Unit, District or attend a Provincial camp event. Each summer Provincial Camping opportunities are made available to members and their friends. Camp Fairhaven is also open to non-Guiding groups, church groups, non-profit groups etc. are encouraged to consider Fairhaven as an alternative for your group meetings and retreats.  Note: Proof of liability insurance is required for all non-Guiding groups.

ABOUT CAMP FAIRHAVEN

Surrounded by the natural beauty of Prince Edward Island, Camp Fairhaven is located on the shores of Murray River in the eastern end of the island. With 75 acres, Fairhaven is an excellent choice for you to experience camping, to hold meetings, conferences and reunions.

At the foot of the property is a safe, sandy beach on the Murray River, a tidal salt water river. Canoes and lifejackets are available and a supervised swimming area is marked. Lifeguards are available with notice.

A main lodge is available for your indoor program activities on rainy days or when you need a place out of the sun. It includes modern kitchen facilities, washrooms and showers, a spacious room with a wood stove, and fold-down tables and benches for indoor eating or activities.

MacKenzie House
MacKenzie House is a building suitable for residential camping. Perfect for your first camping experience or camping with younger members of Guiding. It includes:
  • Bunk beds enough to sleep 22 (no mattresses)
  • Accessible Indoor Washrooms and Outdoor Showers
  • Wood Burning Stove
  • Separate leaders sleeping area for 8
  • Table and benches suitable for small group meetings or activities

Tent Sites

Three rustic tent sites are available for your camping needs - Rabbit Run, Shady Nook, and Sparrow Glen.
  • Outdoor shelter with picnic tables for cooking and eating. Great for program activities on rainy days
  • Fire Pit with firewood
  • Running Water
  • Washrooms and shower facilities nearby
  • Tents and other camping equipment is available


Wilderness Campsite
A Wilderness campsite is available for those looking for a little more challenge and adventure. This site has outdoor latrines, a handpump for water, a campfire pit, and space for two to three tents.
